Charlie Fellows Mayfair Secret

Another debutante in waiting.

Charlie Fellow is a likable trainer who probably deserves a few more two-year-olds in his string. Last season wasn't vintage by any standard but there could be one horse of interest. Mayfair Secret was noted by Group Horse as a potentially smart filly. This bay daughter of Galileo cost 380,000 euros when purchased at the yearling sales. Fellows must have been pretty keen on this March foal as she was entered for the Rockfel Stakes (Group 2). I suspect, connections were in no rush to race this horse at two probably allowing her to strengthen up for a three-year-old campaign.

The only other horse Fellows entered last year was Mzoon. This bay filly was given a Stakes entry which is hardly an endorsement of ability (for most trainers). This daughter of Dark Angel wasn't that fancied on debut but not disgraced when beaten under three lengths in fifth place.

Definitely keep an eye on Mayfair Secret who could go well this season.
