Dark Horse: King's Slipper

Clive Cox is no stranger to talented two-year-olds. Last season saw the likes of Heartache,  Koditime, Grand Koonta & Two Weeks.

One horse that didn't make an appearance in that formative season is King's Slipper. This bay colt is a son of Leroidesanimaux. The dam, Last Slipper, never raced. This yearling was by far an inexpensive buy at just 37,000G. This March foal was given an entry for the Royal Lodge Stakes (Group 2) and one of three horses considered for this race by the trainer.

It will be interesting to see when this three-year-old makes his debut. He was owned by Clive Cox until the 12th August 2017 but now in the ownership of D B Clark & A R Bentall.

This trainer from Lambourn, Berkshire can often prime his debutantes especially those strong in the market. A favourite racecourse is Bath.
